Prior to speaking with Renate, I had never heard of the CliftonStrengths Assessment. In my career, I have reached an executive level management position, but have always struggled in interviews when the inevitable “describe your leadership style” question is asked. I was in the process of interviewing for the next level position within my company, and knew my typical “simply being myself”, or whatever other answer I might have thought of on the spot, would not be sufficient. Renate recommended that I take the CliftonStrengths Assessment, then talk with her about the results. I decided to give it a try. After receiving my results, Renate and I met for the consultation. My top five strengths were Harmony, Analytical, Achiever, Intellection and Consistency. I had no idea what this meant. Renate was able to clearly explain the report to me and how each of these strengths (among many others) determined my approach to people, my career, and my management style. It was very enlightening and there was definitely a “that makes sense” moment. Renate not only helped me develop a sense of understanding that ultimately led not only to me being able to describe my leadership style during the interview process, but also helped me to be more aware of my approach to leading in the workplace.
